Requirements & Criteria
Students who wish to be considered for the incoming freshman class need only to complete the Georgia State admissions application, preferably by the Early Action deadline. Admission is limited to approximately the top 5-7% of each incoming class, for best consideration students are encouraged to apply to Georgia State by November 15, 2017. The Honors College will review applications, test scores and transcripts and will notify successful candidates.
The average score of accepted students for Fall 2016 was approximately 1360 SAT (math and verbal sections only; Old SAT) and/or 30/31 ACT Composite score. The average high school GPA (core, unweighted) was 3.85.

Current Georgia State Students
Students who have completed at least 24 hours of coursework* while enrolled at Georgia State University and have a minimum 3.5 Georgia State GPA may apply for admission to the Honors College. The application for admission to the Honors College will open for submissions on March 1 and close on May 1 each year; applicants will be evaluated based on their completed credit hours and cumulative institutional grade point averages as of the completion of the spring semester. Admission to the Honors College is for the fall semester and is offered on a space-available basis to the most highly qualified applicants.
*Less than 60 credit hours is strongly encouraged. Students with more than 60 credit hours will be required to supplement applications with descriptions of proposed honors coursework.
