The Capital Experience

The Capital Experience provides Georgia State Honors College students from all majors with the exciting opportunity to live and intern in the nation’s capital. Internships are available throughout Washington, DC, covering a wide range of policy areas, the arts, media, sciences, and other areas of interest. Our goal is to enhance undergraduate education, increase Georgia State and the Honors College visibility in the nation’s capital, and link Washington, DC alumni with our students and campus.

Through a broad range of programs for undergraduates in fields as diverse as political science and art history, economics and biochemistry, the Honors College opens up the unique educational opportunities of the nation’s capital.

Students can intern with a variety of organizations including government agencies (such as the Department of Justice, Department of Treasury and Department of Education), the White House, political parties, political action groups and with members of the Georgia Congressional Delegation. Internships are also available with museums, the arts, think tanks, historical archives, research and policy organizations, science and environmental groups, medical centers and the media.
